Danzig: "Cantspeak"

The reason why this song, video, and lyrics resonate with me so much is because of the lyrics. It's about being so passionate, so angry, so full of emotion yet paralyzed by sadness and confusion at the same time. It's about wanting to commit suicide yet struggling on. I love it.

"4 Strings: Take Me Away"

Lyrics:

Take me away, Million miles away from here
Take me away, Find a place for you and me
You're taking me higher
High as I could be
Take me away
Forever you and me
Take me away
A million miles away from here
Take me away
Find a place for you and me
You're taking me higher
High as I could be
Take me away
Forever you and me
Take me away
The tears I cried
Kept them all inside
I needed time
To make up my mind
Take me away
A million miles away from here
Take me away
Find a place for you and me
You're taking me higher
High as I could be
Take me away
Forever you and me
Take me away
A million miles away from here
Take me away
Find a place for you and me
You're taking me higher
High as I could be
Take me away
Forever you and me
Take me away

Fear Factory: "Therapy For Pain" (my favorite music)

One of my favorite songs. Check the lyrics and you'll know why.

To be more specific: My brother, Alan, died in 2002 and I opened and stared into his eyes as I heard his heart rate monitor steadily go from slow to nothing. I looked into his eyes and said "please help me when you get to the other side. I'm going to need your help. I can't do this from here from all by myself. I'll need your help. Help me when you go there, okay?

I don't want you to feel bad about leaving. Don't feel bad that you have to go. Your body won't let you stay. I know you want to stay but you can't. Your body won't let you. So don't feel bad about going, okay? We'll be alright, okay? I love you, I love you."

And that was it.

Firehouse: "Don't Treat Me Bad" (my favorite music)

Firehouse's "Don't Treat Me Bad" (1991). Back to the days when hair bands were still relevant and before the Nirvana pusche. Great singer, great musical harmony, straight-to-the-point lyrics. When I hear this song I think about all the women/girls who hurt me in the past over the stupidest shit. "Don't treat me bad" really means something to me.
